| #2 | I used this DJ and had the worst experience ever!
He did not play the songs we requested, he played the WRONG father daughter song and harrassed my guests. And he played the ONE song we said do not play... Yes, ONE song - how hard is that? He also decided against our desire to avoid rap - which is a fine genre of music but not for my wedding reception. He decided that he preferred the songs that would make guests avoid the dance floor even though we provided ample song ideas for him - oh - but he forgot our list of requests.
You can read the wedding article regarding hiring a DJ which I wrote.
I contacted WQAD, A call to action - biggest waste of time. They have volunteers who work there and the lady I was assigned was rude to me regarding it all. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint but that did nothing. I even posted on qcweddings board about it and had a photographer contact me telling my attempts were in vain - and how he had been sued 3 times and never lost - I thought - why are you telling me this and why would you brag about being sued?
Dan Baker - owner of DD&J decided that his errors were worth $100 and sent us a check.
I have a DVD that shows me on the dance floor with my dad dancing to "God Bless the Broken Road" instead of "I loved her First" TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT SONGS and a DJ should know the words to a song especially ones as popular as those two. On the DVD, I clearly look at Dan and say this is the wrong song and he just shrugged his shoulders and looked away... I was fuming, but my dad just wanted some nice pictures so we kept dancing.
Basically - don't hire this guy if you want a nice wedding reception. He harrassed some of my guests by hitting on them and literally 'chasing' them around - it was horrible and they ended up leaving early! The topper was when he began soliciting business by visiting tables to disperse his business card, how tacky is that? My wedding was in April and I'm still disgusted with this person...
Hindsight is 20/20 and I can't change my night - but I hope I have helped you create your night without these problems.
Why didn't I take matters into my own hands that night? The bride is pulled in every direction imaginable - and as bad as it was - I wanted to enjoy my friends and family who were in town because that was more important than making a scene. So I avoided the dance floor and ignored the situation as much as I could.
Good luck with your planning! |

| #3 | Hello,
I was at my friends wedding and the dj played the wrong song for the father daughter dance. Can't remember what song they played but is was wrong we were all shocked the song was something about a mom? It's to bad when things happen like that.
